Troubleshooting: The Harmony 1000 appears to lock up or freeze, rendering the remote unusable until being reset (removing & replacing battery).

Cause:
Following a recent release of the Harmony Remote Control Software, a growing number of customers have reported that their Harmony 1000 appears to lock up or freeze, rendering the remote unusable until being reset (removing & replacing battery).

Solution:
Logitech is pleased to announce that we have identified the root cause and developed a new version of our firmware which addresses this issue. This new version of software is now available for download to your remote.

To take advantage of this fix, using Harmony Remote Control Software, login to your Harmony account and update your remote. Please follow the instructions below to update your Harmony Remote:

  1. Ensure that the Logitech Harmony Remote Software is installed on your computer.
  2. Connect your remote control to your computer using the USB cable provided.
  3. Login to your Harmony account.
  4. Click on the yellow Update Remote button located in the top right corner of the Activities Home Page window.

Logitech has identified a very small group of customers could still experience freezing with their Harmony 1000 after applying this firmware update.  If you do experience this please follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the Harmony Remote Control Software
  2. Login to your account
  3. Click the Remote Settings tab.
  4. Click the Display Settings button.
  5. Select Hide under the Show Starting Activity screen option.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Update the Remote.
